Normally, a new set is something that's simply exciting and fun -- both for station employees and for viewers. This one certainly has created a lot of buzz, but this time, it’s truly historic.

The most important part of KOAT's new set is that it is HD-ready. It's been specifically made for the unique features of high-definition television. People really do look different in HD, and this set takes that into account. So, it's just one part of our future transition to HD (Want to learn more about DTV and HDTV? Click here.)

That's the practical side -- but it also looks impressive! The slideshow and video below reveal an inside look at the process behind the new set's design and installation.

In the coming days, we'll show you more of the set, the people behind building it, and the man behind lighting it.

We'll start using the new set Monday on Action 7 News Live at 6.
