Target 7 has been following the story of a modeling and acting academy that came into town looking for child stars, but instead, parents said the company took their money and shattered their children's dreams.

Target 7 Investigator Melissa Vega reveals how these children may get a second chance at stardom thanks to one local business owner and others from the community.

Diana Horner showed pictures of clients who have made it.

"He's the child lead, and so we're very excited to see that movie come out, this young man from Albuquerque has done all sorts of things," Diana said.

Diana has a portfolio full of talent that started at John Robert Powers.

"This young lady from Albuquerque has done a lot of things including Seventeen Magazine," Diana said.

John Robert Powers has been around since 1923. It began as an agency and then turned into a development center with offices independently owned and located nationwide.

"We have the development that's been proven with success stories and we have the contacts that we can get them in front of that -- can actually make a career happen," Horner said.

Diana said when she heard Pacific Modeling and Acting Academy came into town looking for kid stars, then took parents' money and canceled their acting classes, she knew she had to do something.

"Albuquerque has been very good to me, so I want to just reach out and help the people who lost money," Diana said.

Diana is offering free services to parents like Marie Greigo and her 10-year-old daughter Kyra Marie who gave Pacific Modeling and Acting Academy almost $4,000.

"He gave me a receipt and then he said that we wouldn't be sorry, that my daughter was going to make it," Marie Greigo said.

Even though Marie's money is gone, Diana hopes to give Kyra a second chance.

"I just want to be able to get people into the industry realize their dream, develop more confidence and try to help people cope through this unfortunate situation," Diana said.

If you are a parent who paid for classes with Pacific Modeling and Acting Academy, Diana wants you to call her directly at 505-266-5677. She would like to meet with parents and their children personally.

Target 7 has learned the theater community is also offering their support.

Albuquerque Little Theatre is offering free tuition for one session. That consists of eight weeks of classes to students who were enrolled in Pacific Modeling and Acting Academy. You can call their box office at 505-242-4750.

Meanwhile, the Growing Stage is offering discounts on classes and a scholarship program. You can give them a call at 505-288-1205.
